Here is a sample blog post.

Blog posts are great for company news, announcements, and keyword-rich articles that can help your website become more visible in Google, Bing and Yahoo! search results. By writing in-depth articles, you can position yourself our your company as an authority in your market.

Your blog posts will appear in the blog feed of your Blog page in reverse chronological order. You can set your blog feed to show the entire post or just a short excerpt of the post by changing the setting at Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog > Content Type.

You will also notice that the Featured Image for this post appears at the very top of this ‘single post’ as well as in the main blog feed.

Here’s a pullquote made easy by the Pullquote shortcode in Shortcodes Ultimate
Set the featured image when adding or editing a post in the Featured Image metabox on the right side of your post editor. We sized our featured images to 800px by 586px and compressed them to about 60% quality in .jpg format before uploading them to the site. You should get into the habit of uniformly sizing and compressing your images so that your pages will load quickly on phones and tablets.

To organize your posts, use Categories and Tags. This post is assigned to a category named ‘Demo’ and a tag named ‘sample’. Best practice is to assign one category and up to three tags at most per blog post.

To view posts by category, see the Category Archive. For example, here is the archive of posts categorized as ‘Demo’. You can also click on the little Demo icon just below the featured image above.

To view posts by tag, see the Tag Archive. For example, here is the archive of posts tagged as ‘sample’.

And here’s another Shortcodes Ultimate pullquote, this time aligned to the right and in blue!
You can add new categories and tags within the Categories and Tags metaboxes on the right hand side of the post editor while adding a new post.

Comments have been disabled on all posts. To enable comments on posts globally, go to Settings > Discussion > Default article settings and check Allow people to post comments on new articles. Keep in mind that if you allow posts, you will need to stay vigilant about moderating posts to weed out all the spam commenters that your posts will attract.
